Over the weekend, teams all across the nation brought the holiday cheer to the USSSA Fastpitch Central Florida State Championship.
The fun-filled event hosted 135 teams in the 10U-18U age divisions from across the nation at six different complexes around the Central Florida area.
“Seeing these athletes happy and smiling all weekend was very rewarding. I’m honored to be a part of their journey making memories,” said USSSA Tournament Director Tonya Waters.
With the holidays right around the corner – participants had a great time dressing up in their best reindeer attire.
While the tournament was filled with lots of fun, these reindeer brought the competition!
The Clearwater Bullets from Clearwater, Florida secured the 14A Championship.
The Clearwater Bullets went 2-1 in pool play before securing a 4-0 record in bracket play.
“The championship game was like no other. Every inning was very intense, and it had everyone on the edge of their seats. Time had expired and the score was still 0-0. After an ITB, Clearwater Bullets defeated a very strong Tampa Mustangs Weston team 2-1,” said Waters.
The Clearwater Bullets roster coached by Sean Schultheis, included Cassidy Allen, Lily Briscoe, Jeovanna Carter, Kabella Corning, Emily Jaster, Ava Kessler, Alexis Medina, Kelsie Meister, Karaline Oglialoro, Danielle, Overman, Madison Smith, and Taylor Tucker.
“It is so hard to win a State Championship! There are great teams that have never won one. This group has won 3 USSSA “A” State Championships in a row. Someone different is the hero each weekend. Something special is going on in Clearwater! Go Bullets,” said Clearwater Bullets Head Coach Sean Schultheis.
