USSSA Slowpitch appoints Jeff Shaw as new Iowa State Director 
   

December 7, 2023 | The United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) is proud to announce the appointment of its newest Slowpitch State Director, Jeff Shaw. Jeff will oversee the state of Iowa and its area, league and tournament directors while coordinating the continued growth and expansion opportunities for USSSA Slowpitch.   
  
Jeff, being with the association for over 17 years, started working with USSSA as an umpire in 2006 before becoming an area director in 2015.  Since then, he has worked for Midwest USSSA as a tournament director running events across the Midwest from Hays, KS down to Branson, MO and up to Des Moines, Iowa. He has also been a chosen event director for multiple Conference and World tournaments, as well as Challenge Cup held annually at USSSA Space Coast Complex.  
 

Jeff currently resides in Independence, Mo. with his wife Julie of 13 years and his two beautiful daughters.  
 

When asked about his recent appointment: “I am honored to be named to the position of Iowa USSSA State Director and aspire to build a strong state program under the national USSSA Slowpitch umbrella — one that all Hawkeye and Cyclone fans can be proud of!”

Jeff has an incredible track record of successful, creative events that he will look to continue in Iowa.  I have no doubt that the USSSA Iowa Slowpitch program is in good hands,” added Sean Melvin, National Slowpitch Director.
