Wow Factor Atlantic Dominates USSSA Queen City Select Super NIT Tournament

Over the weekend, 173 teams participated in the USSSA Queen City Select Super NIT in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“I take great pride in hosting the Queen City Select Super NIT every April and every October,” said Tournament Director Kendal Stone. “This one was no different! From fundamentals to flash and swagger, the kids and coaches brought it! It was a great competitive balance from division to division. I was just happy to provide great fields, staff and umpires for these kids to showcase their talents and grow. Hosting an event this big is no easy task but we do our very best. I’m proud of my team helping us pull it off. Picture perfect weather certainly helps as well!”

One of the teams who thrived in tournament play was Wow Factor Atlantic out of Mooresville, North Carolina.

The team went 5-0 on the tournament to win the 12U Major Division Queen City Select Super NIT Championship.

“The best game of the entire 173-team tournament was Wow Factor Atlantic’s 1-0 victory over SBA Bolt Nationals in Sunday morning’s quarterfinals,” said Stone. “A dual that took an extra inning to determine a winner. Both starting pitchers pitched into the 6th inning.”

Wow Factor Atlantic’s roster includes Aidan Liberman, Jay Dulaney, Myers Frank, Easton Greene, Hunter Hough, Bo Knox, EJ Lyons, Patrick Melton, Na’torrian Moore, Cruz Pahl, Sam Spangler, and Jet Wright.

They are coached by Head Coach Chris Goodrum and Assistant Coaches Kyle Frank, Andrew Greene, and Brian Pahl.

“We have been together for 4 years and have 6 of the original members from when we started,” said Goodrum. “We have a strong group of kids and amazing parents.  Our kids have a very strong work ethic and had a great weekend against some really strong competition. I think beating the SBA Bolts National team 1-0 set the tone for the rest of bracket play on Sunday.  As a non-parent coach I could not be more proud of this group of young men, even if they were my own kids. USSSA Queen City Super NIT was a blast with nice fields and good umpires. We enjoy playing USSSA because they always put on a well-run tournament time and time again.”
